Truth about Making Money in the world of Internet OR Work from Home Opportunities:

In the world of Internet, you may have come across many emails, websites, programs etc., saying that you can earn astronomical figures just by working for few minutes in front of your computer and with the comfort of your home. All these statements are too good to be true. It’s true that you can make some online income by working at home; however you got to put a considerable amount of effort in order to see some pay checks and just by working few minutes will get you nowhere.

I’m a Software Professional and am employed in a reputed organization. After my day’s work, I do have some free time and wanted to use it effectively. Then I got to know about few best ways of making money online via the internet marketing, Affiliate marketing, Article marketing, Email marketing and so on. I did some research on the internet and found a hell a lot of programs stating that, “Work for few minutes and you’ll earn some $$$”. This caught my attention and thought, “Let me use my free time and make a new income stream” and then I started to look for a good opportunity.

After burning my hands by getting scammed in couple of programs, I did find some of the opportunities that suited my requirements and started to work on that. In one of the program, I found a very good tutorial, a step by step guide to the Internet marketing world and started to learn the techniques of that. While learning, I began to realize the difficulty and the amount of effort and dedication required in earning even just a cent in the online world. Believe me, you have a huge competition and only a handful of the players are making good money via Internet.

In order to save other people like me who think, they can earn good amount by working few minutes on the internet, I thought to jot down my experiences in this blog so that you don’t commit the same mistakes that I did or get into the trap of scams. Below are some of the facts about earning in the online world.

1.      Affiliate Marketing – Affiliate marketing is a marketing practice in which a company rewards its affiliate for each customer brought by the affiliate's marketing efforts. In this type of marketing, the claim is that “you’ll be working with many companies you choose, and earn a commission when a sale happens via your special link called Affiliate link or Pay code link or Hoplink”.

The fact is that, you’ll be typing ads in the name of promoting company. If any person clicks on the ads and purchases some product, then you get paid with the predefined amount or commission for the purchased product. The ratio of people visiting the company with your affiliate link is negligible. I cite this for the reason, like you there are lots of affiliates who would like to make online income a secondary income and are promoting. So, now you can imagine how often any individual would find your ad, click on it and then go ahead to purchase it. I believe you got a fair picture of “how difficult it is to get even a single sale”.

There are certain companies online where they pay you if someone just clicks your link, but to get some one click on your link is the challenging part.

2.      Data Entry – Anything you enter online is termed as Data entry. Data entry work opportunities vary from simple data entry processor such as forms filling, surveys, advertising, maintaining databases on corrections, correction and editing, transcription, secretarial work, of simple searches and so on to the more challenging work of a transcription work. Although data entry work is a simple concept, it still requires hard work and commitment, just like any other work at home job or web business. In fact, Affiliate marketing is a type of data entry job, as you’ll be typing ads about the company or products of the company, that you wish to promote.

There are a good number of online companies who want data entry operators to work for them, but the hardest part is to find a legitimate company who would pay for your services. If you find one, then may be you have found a new income stream to earn yourself some money.

To find the data entry opportunities, it’s better to advertise yourself on the internet about your data entry services and if any company/ individual contacts you requesting your service and you provide your service to the requestor, then you make money.

3.      Article Marketing – Article marketing is a type of advertising in which companies/ affiliates write articles related to their respective niche/ industry. These articles are made available for distribution and publication in the marketplace. Each article has a resource box that includes references and contact information for the author's business/ affiliate’s promoted company/ product.

Articles can be about almost anything under the sun, and something that may not seem interesting to you will be interesting to others. There are Websites on the Internet about almost every subject matter you can think of, and these Websites are always looking for subject articles for their Websites. This creates content that search engines want to see. This is why many companies are willing to pay top dollar for original content articles.

Good quality content articles (Good quality includes your grip on the language, vocabulary, grammar, content to the point etc.,) are the ones that get all the commendation and will be ranked high in the search engines. No wonder, internet is flooded with all different kinds of software for article writing. You can make use of them to write an article (create an Article) and you become an Article writer.

To succeed, I mean to make some money in this type of marketing; you need to produce good quality articles.

4.      Email Marketing – Email marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating saleable messages to an audience. This deals with sending email messages with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately.

In this type, you’ll be involved in sending simple text emails to a set of email recipients. The email would consist of few lines about the company/ product that you are promoting. There is a good amount of commission/ pay to each of the email processed successfully. Processed successfully in turn means, the email should generate a sale and you will be paid only after that.

Most of the times in the email marketing, it might so happen that you are promoting the company you joined and majority of times these become a SPAM emails. So, in order to make online income a secondary income and earn some money through this type of marketing you need two things.

• Find a legitimate company that pays you for your efforts. (Hardest part of this program)
• Put your best efforts and be committed, so that you make money.

5.      Paid Surveys – “This is one of the easiest ways to earn money” assert most of the online paid surveys websites, as this does not require any special knowledge or skills. All you need to do is join few legitimate paid survey companies and you’ll be sent the survey invitation. Fill out the survey questionnaire with your opinions and you get paid for survey. This is how online Paid surveys work. However, the catch is that, most or majority of the survey companies concentrate only on the US market and you can join to the companies only if you are a resident of US. So, not many online paid survey companies are available to the rest of the world.

Luckily if you found a paid survey company that accepts participants from all over the world or at the least your residential country, then after joining, you’ll be sent the survey questionnaires to know your opinions. Many a times it may so happen that, by the time you open the survey to fill out, you might be thrown out of the survey saying “The survey is full” or “you don’t qualify to take the survey” where in you’ll never know the qualifying criteria. In that case, you don’t make any money and you will wait for a new survey in your inbox. Also, each company specifies certain $ limit and you will not be able to Request Payout unless you reach or cross the specified limit. Another factor is you might not get the surveys for quite long time. However, this might not be true if you are a US resident.

6.      Paid to Read (PTR) Emails – This is another easy way to earn some money. All you need to do is sign up with the Paid to Read email companies and they will send you emails. In order to get paid to read, you need to visit the URL specified in the email and should be on that URL or surf that website for a limited amount of time and then the predefined amount will be credited to your account. Please do not mistake me here, account as such the email id/ user id with which you signed up with the Paid to read email company and not your bank account. Each PTR website specifies a $ limit that you need to earn to request a payout otherwise you simply cannot request your earnings.

The $ amount specified per email depends on the Paid to Read email company and the amount will be something like $0.001 which is not even a cent or may be a Cent per email and as mentioned earlier, the PTR company would have a minimum amount specified that you need to earn before you request a payout. For example, a PTR company may have $ limit as $100 for upgraded members or $ 1000 for free members. In these types of programs you also have the provision of referring your friends and earning for your referrals and also you’ll be paid a commission on your referral’s earnings.

Similar to the Paid To Read programs, there’s another program called Paid To Click (PTC). In this program, you will click on few ads present on the website and get paid. The amount per click would be around 0.5 Cents and the rest of rules such as requesting payout, referral etc., follow the PTR.

I guess you are now getting a picture of how difficult it is to earn money online. Even worse thing is that many of the Paid to Read email companies or websites are scam websites and it is very hard to find a legitimate company. Assuming that you found a legitimate company that pays for reading emails, just think about the amount of time that you would need to spend in order to reach the payout limit.

In short, the conclusion is that, All the programs, websites etc. that states “you can earn an online income by working from home/ working at home for just few minutes” are just false claims at least in the very beginning. May be once you have set up your business, it might be a work of few minutes. I’m yet reach that milestone. If you want to succeed in the Online world and make some money then, You need to put in lot of efforts and should be very much dedicated to make some money online. This is true in each and every business or industry and nothing comes easily or for free.
